Big news on the new “New Music Friday”!

Two big pieces of news today!

1) New Music Tuesday is now New Music Friday. Confused? Well new music usually comes out on different days around the world. Here in the US most people expect to find new albums in store or online on Tuesday. In an attempt to fight piracy a global music group has decided to move this day to Friday now all around the world. Think that will help fight piracy?

2) In actual New Music, a fresh new track dropped today called “Where Are Ü Now” which was written by Justin Bieber, shared with Diplo, then turned into this great tune by Skrillex and Diplo (aka the DJ duo “JackÜ“)featuring Biebs. The song is a much more mature sound for JB with a fresh, warm weather vibe that should garner universal appeal across geographic and music genres. I’ll be interested to see how this is received across Top 40 radio formats. Until then, check it out and let me know what you think!

  • Pete, I’m no aficionado when it comes to music, I simply know what I like. Winger, the band, debuted big in the late-80’s but from what I recall its popularity faded as Classic Rock/Pop Rock gave way to the emergence of Grunge. Anyhow, while not techincally new music–their “new” album arrived in Spring 2014, Winger seems to be making strides in reviving the Classic Rock, even speed metal sound (their song “Rat Race”) which to the best of my knowledge doesn’t really exist right now in main stream music circles. They are talented providing a non-formulaic approach to Classic Rock It’s refreshing. Beyond that which I’m sure they already garner, deserves attention from the experts in the industry.
